PEI is Canada's smallest
province with a full-time population of approximately 140,000 which
swells to over a million in the summer as families from all over the
Canada and indeed the world flock to beautiful, serene PEI for their
summer vacations. Most are drawn by the friendliness of the islanders
and the laid-back, easy atmosphere which PEI is renowned for. PEI
offers beautiful views of rolling, pastural, almost English countryside
as well as spectacular sunsets, quaint fishing harbours that are still
part of a working fishery, deep-sea fishing expeditions, the bounty of
the sea served up island style at the ubiquious lobster suppers, as
well as world-class golf, wonderful sandy beaches, amusement parks,
boating and swimming.
Truly a great place for the family to vacation away from the
hustle-bustle of the city. PEI is however not without city and cultural
attractions. Charlottetown, the seat of government, offers amazing
shopping including many specialty island craft shops, sightseeing by
double-decker bus, as well as plays and concerts at the Confederation
Centre for the Arts, including Anne of Green Gables, based on the book
written by Lucy Maud Montgomery, which PEI is known for throughtout the
world. Charlottetown has also played host to the East Coast Music
Awards and has its own Winter Festival, Jack Frost Festival and much
more. You can be busy year round.
Due to PEI's jagged coastline, we are blessed with a plethora of inlet,
bays and rivers, which substantially increase the amount of waterfront property available.
Without a doubt we have some of the best real estate buys in North
America. You can purchase a waterfront lot for as little as $16,000,
cottage lots to build your dream holiday retreat for as little as
$8,900, and family homes start around $70,000, ranging to $500,000 in
Summerside.
